Tena Hoekstra-Opthof’s father passed away in Ontario.  We pray all of God’s comfort and blessing on Tena and her family as they grieve and remember her father.

The Annex CRC, the newest CRC church plant in Cochrane, after consultation with CR Home Missions and its leadership team, has decided to close its doors.  This, of course, is a sad event and we grieve that this new church plant was not able to grow to full life.  But we praise God for the good Kingdom risks that were ventured here.  Please pray for the church planters, Robin and Anjeanette Bailey and their family, as they consider next steps in their life.  Pray also for those who were part of the Annex’s ministry, that they would be able to find a good new church home.

International Concerns: Election Dispute Ends in Violence and Famine – Zimbabwe Results from the March 29 presidential election, kept secret until five weeks later, showed that challenger Morgan Tsvangirai beat the incumbent, Robert Mugabe, but fell short of an absolute majority. A run-off election is scheduled for June 27. Violence surrounding the election has left 43 opposition members dead and scores forced out of their homes. An economic collapse has brought 165,000% inflation, 80% unemployment and chronic food shortages. Millions of people have fled to nearby countries. Pray for a cessation of violence, fair and peaceful elections, and for an upturn in the economy of what was once known as “the breadbasket of Africa”.

Please be in prayer for the people who recently lost family, homes and so much more in the earthquakes & tornadoes. One Eight families from Parkersburg CRC, Iowa lost there homes and one couple were among the victims.
