Sonshine Community Services exists to share the love of God by providing care, support and education from a Christian perspective to families and individuals in need, as well as to encourage the development of healthy families. Services are provided equally to all individuals regardless of race, religion, political status, or age. This work is accomplished through three agencies: Sonshine Centre, Sonshine Counselling Services, Sonshine Family Day Homes. The Sonshine Centre is a residential program for women and children who have experienced family violence. Since 1983, counselors at Sonshine have been helping individuals, couples and families work through issues such as depression, stress, grief, anxiety, communication difficulties, low self-esteem, and anger. And Sonshine Family Day Homes administers a quality childcare program that enables children to participate to their fullest potential in day home routines, activities and play experiences. The agency also has providers with specialized training in caring for children with disabilities.
