River Park Church (Calgary) was started in 1952 when a like-minded group of families decided to become part of the Christian Reformed Denomination, which was started in the U.S.A. in the mid 1800's (www.crcna.org). Already in its early days, First C.R.C. was a group with a strong emphasis toward outreach ministries in the community.

In 1973, a spiritual renewal affected several churches in Calgary. River Park Church was very much a part of this awakening and enjoyed strong growth, both in numbers and renewed commitment to the Lord. Several new ministries were birthed out of this renewal, which still prosper today, and the church continues to grow and receive benefit from this ongoing renewal.
